MM2 Value Guide & Trading Rules

How MM2 Trade Tools compares source snapshots and calculates reference differences. These figures do not guarantee trade outcomes.

Snapshot reference values · Captured . MM2Values benchmark: · Supreme benchmark: . Reference points, not guaranteed offers or trade safety. Value Guide

1. Dual Value Lists (Never Averaged)

In the Murder Mystery 2 trading community, players and Discord trading servers commonly follow one of two major value authorities: MM2Values or Supreme Values.

Our Rule: We present both valuation standards independently and side-by-side. We never calculate a blended average or compromise either list.

For instance, high-tier weapons like Traveler's Gun or Darkshot frequently have different ratings on each list. Averaging them creates a fictitious number that neither trading partner recognizes. By displaying both standards clearly, traders can agree on which list to use and negotiate with full transparency.

2. Handling Missing Snapshot Values

When a trade includes an item that is unlisted on a particular value list, many calculators silently count it as 0 points. This misleadingly shows a “Win” or “Lose” verdict and can cause players to make terrible trades.

Our calculation engine enforces strict safety rules:

  • Missing Snapshot Values Flagged: If this snapshot does not contain an item value, it is labeled Not available in this snapshot. This does not establish whether the source prices it elsewhere.
  • Known Subtotal Display: The calculator shows the subtotal of all priced items and explicitly counts unlisted items (e.g. +1 unlisted item).
  • Unlisted Item Verdict: If either side contains an unlisted item, the tool refuses to show a false Win/Fair/Lose outcome. It marks the result as an Incomplete estimate; this is a data warning, not a guarantee of trade safety.

3. How Reference Totals Are Compared

When both sides contain items and all values are available on the selected source, the trade checker compares their snapshot reference totals:

  • Net Difference: Receive Total − Give Total
  • Percentage Gain/Loss: (Net Difference ÷ Give Total) × 100%
  • Zero Give Total: The percentage is not applicable; the point difference still determines the comparison.

Both sides must contain items. With complete values on the selected source, receive minus give determines the result: Higher reference total for a positive difference, Equal reference totals for exactly zero, and Lower reference total for a negative difference. No percentage tolerance is applied. Percentages are rounded for display only. Win / Fair / Lose (W/F/L) are shorthand for these reference comparisons, not trade outcomes. Missing values produce an Incomplete estimate, not a complete result. An empty side means awaiting items, not equal totals.
